Money Deceives You

That you forget what you really want.

Let me blab, let me growl
let me tear myself down
i'll be okay in the end
i'll be okay in the end.

I can't stand to smile and shine
despite all the misery living here inside
i can't pretend all the time
i can't pretend all the time.

People don't want to hear your sad stories

but they don't care if you're happy as well.

black.

i feel so dark
and bleak and dry
without any reason at all
or the reason i know
but i don't want to think about
because it will only make me darker.

black.

there's nothing wrong with depression

why do we need to be happy all the time?

On a Dead Child

Man proposes, God in His time disposes,
And so I wander'd up to where you lay,
A little rose among the little roses,
And no more dead than they.

It seemed your childish feet were tired of straying,
You did not greet me from your flower-strewn bed,
Yet still I knew that you were only playing--
Playing at being dead.

I might have thought that you were really sleeping,
So quiet lay your eyelids to the sky,
So still your hair, but surely you were peeping;
And so I did not cry.

God knows, and in His proper time disposes,
And so I smiled and gently called your name,
Added my rose to your sweet heap of roses,
And left you to your game.

Eight-Eighteen

Early in the morning
The phone kept ringing (as usual) ---
A call for repeated orders;
A call for the boss;
A call for coming invoices;
A call for another call.
The logbook thickened as he wrote down all calls so he won't forget.
Papers filed in his "in" box piled up and up
Notwithstanding the errands he has to make.

Lunchtime came with him still at the desk
A half-eaten sandwich and a toppled Gatorade
Good thing it still had its cap on.
Hours droned by, he left his desk for his deliveries:
Bring this, receive that.

By eight PM, his perfume caught up with his scent
By his desk, he glanced at his family's portrait
Where the calendar next to it greeted him:
Happy birthday.

marupok na kahoy, inaanay
sa labas kita ang kabuuan
nang buksan ay bukbok lang naman

Nalunod sa Pangarap

isang dagat ng pangarap
ang siyang lumunod sa hangaring
pilit pumapaimbabaw
ngunit nauubusan ng hangin

In a Nutshell

(Formerly titled as "Not")

As close as the sunset
As mystical as the night
She dances with shadows
On walls she made of dismal heights
